For poetry lovers # 3

If I had shoes to wear,
I’d walk the miles with joy to share,
I’d run through fields of green and bright,
And dance beneath the stars at night.

I’d wear them proud, with feet held high,
And feel the wind beneath the open sky,
I’d walk the roads, both old and new,
And discover secrets, hidden from view.

If I had shoes, I’d take a stand,
And walk the path, that’s yet unplanned,
I’d roam the world, from sea to sea,
And find my place, where I’m meant to be.

But even without shoes, I’m free,
To walk the path, that’s meant for me,
For shoes may protect, and bring us cheer,
But it’s the heart that beats, and wipes away each tear.
